Obtaining a Library Card

There is no charge for a Johnston County resident's first library card.  The applicant must present a valid North Carolina Driver's License or North Carolina ID at the time of registration.  If the address on the identification is not current, a piece of mail (preferably a utility bill) addressed to the applicant must be presented to show proof of Johnston County residency.  There is no charge for a patron showing proof of employment in Johnston County.  For those who do not live or work in Johnston County, the annual fee for a library card is $10.  First time check out limit is two (2) items.

Children 6 and older may obtain library cards, but the identification and signature of the parent or guardian is required.
