YES! Railroad Days will be celebrated
October 2nd and 3rd, 2020
Selma Railroad Days Festival is held on the first weekend in October each year. This year will look a little different, however, and we encourage you to scroll down and check links in the box at the top right for more information and details of this year's events.
Create your train using materials from home such as paper, food, cardboard, etc. Once completed, send in a photo to firstname.lastname@example.org before September 28th. Once photos are received, they will be judged and a winner will be chosen on Wednesday, September 30th.
ALL ABOARD!!!! We will be accepting videos during the whole month of September of you performing your best impression of a train conductors "All Aboard". Performing with costume and location will earn you extra bonus points. Please send in your video to email@example.com before September 28th at 5:00 pm. The videos will be judged and the winner will be announced Thursday, October 1st.
The North Raleigh Model Train Club will host the model train display. This event will be held at the Selma Historic Union Depot Train Station on Friday, October 2nd from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and will continue Saturday, October 3rd from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This display will be open to the public at the Selma Historic Union Depot located at 500 E. Railroad Street, Selma. Cost is FREE and 49 people will be allowed in the depot at any given time, so please be aware you may have to wait to enter. Social distancing rules will apply here, so make sure to have your mask for 5 years and older. Thank you and See You Soon in Selma!
The Railroad Days Festival continues Friday evening with the Chew Chew Food Truck Rodeo. Friday, October 2nd from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Food trucks will be parked on Webb Street in Uptown Selma. Dine in, car hop and take out will be available. Social distancing rules will apply here as well.
